UrbanPlan Committee
The UrbanPlan Committee is the advisory board that oversees the development and implementation of the UrbanPlan Program in Atlanta. UrbanPlan provides a hands-on curriculum for high school and university students, enabling them to understand the analysis and decision making that drives urban development and to appreciate the decision making of stakeholders such as developers, planners, investors and lenders, city government, neighborhood associations and sales and marketing professionals. UrbanPlan helps prepare today's youth to be more active and sensitive to community and land use issues so that the next generation citizenry is more informed about the growth of communities.
UrbanPlan volunteers are selected based on their industry experience and are invited to participate in a full-day training course prior to being able to volunteer in a classroom. The UrbanPlan Program will be available at Westminster Highschool, North Atlanta Highschool, The Georgia Tech College of Architecture and the Georgia Tech Graduate School of Business in the 2009-2010 school year.
